FIVE LESSONS IN FIVE YEARS OF HAVING TWO 6-FIGURE BUSINESSES

Do you own a business or maybe you're thinking about starting one? Growing a successful business doesn't happen overnight... nope not even close. There's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that go on behind the scenes and I want to show you the reality of it all.

HERE ARE THE FIVE LESSONS IN FIVE YEARS OF HAVING TWO 6-FIGURE BUSINESSES:

  • GROWTH IS NOT LINEAR

Some months sales will soar in and sometimes they wont. It might take your business 6 months, 1 year or two years to really take off. WILL YOU HAVE THE RESILIENCE TO KEEP SHOWING UP?

  • KNOW YOUR NUMBERS & ANALYTICS

I’m talking all things numbers

 * Google Analytics

You should know your conversion rate, your monthly traffic numbers off the top of your head. You should also have a good idea of which channels are bringing you your sales… Its all inside google analytics and your shop platform, like Shopify or crate joy.

If you don’t know your numbers you have zero clue what’s working and what’s not working in your business.

I can look at my clients or students google analytics stats and within 5 minutes I have a rough idea the shit that isn’t working in their business and about 700 opportunities..

  • INVEST BEFORE YOU’RE READY TO OR THINK YOU CAN

This is an important one that I need you to really think about. Imagine your car is broke and not working, do you fix it yourself and fuck it up or take it to a mechanic who is a trained expert?  Your business is NO different. We all think we “can’t” afford a coach or a course but then are happy to be slaving away all hours of the day googling things and asking people in Facebook groups which in the end leaves you more confused and you’ve wasted so much time and energy.

Find someone who has DONE THE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO, FIND THEM, LEARN FROM THEM, A COURSE, A MENTOR SESSION, WHATEVER.  Your investments will move you further along in your business.

  • Be Ready To Get Dirty, Scrappy and Work Your Fucking Ass Off

Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of hearts. You better buckle up and know you will be working hard, learning new things each day and have a NO BS attitude. For 3 years of my Dapper dog box business, I was still packing, stuffing and shipping boxes, answering every single customer service email, sending customers hand written notes, and doing everything else in between. I didn’t get to where I was by working 2 hours a day or spending all day staring at instagram feed… Don’t expect different results by doing the same thing day after day.

  • MARKETING IS EVERYTHING

If you don’t know how to market your business, your business will never ever ever grow. Marketing equals visibility and visibility is how your business gets in front of new eyeballs. You don’t need to be on every channel but you need

  • email marketing
  • one social channel
  • one channel that brings organic growth ( SEO Efforts, Blogging, YouTube )
  • One channel where someone else markets your business for you (affiliate program or influencers)

Stop putting ALL your efforts on Instagram, Yes Cheryl I’m looking at you. Instagram is one channel its not your entire marketing strategy
